Pot of Gold

An Irish Folk Tale

March Craft-a-Tale Photo craft gallery

Follow the pictures below for visual instructions on how to make your chia head for your leprechaun. Sprouting chia seeds can be a challenge depending on the moisture and temperature. of your area. Your packet has MORE than enough seeds for you to keep trying! Start with 1 tsp of chia seeds to 2 TBS of water -- let it set and when it is a jelly-like texture, spread evenly on you stocking chia head, making sure not to clump the seeds. Another good tip is to cover with the plastic bag and keep in a warm area for about 2-days until the seeds start to sprout. Make sure the clear cup stays filled with water! Then remove the bag and place your leprechaun in a sunny area. Add eyes, nose and hat -- and enjoy your leprechaun! This a great project to learn all about what seeds need to grow and thrive!

Chia Leprechaun -- grow your own magical fairy garden guardian! Build a stocking head, cover in chia seeds -- and watch his bear grow!

Paint your own wishing stones! No need to be like greedy Dan Kelly when you can make your own magic with a bit o' creativity and some paint! Or -- some thread! Sew a wishing pocket to hide your wishes in. Using a basic running stitch, sew this darling little pocket to keep all your wishes safe.

Dan Kelly never made it to the feast in Ballycahill, but you can throw one for your favorite fairies! The table top can be used to set up a feasting table anywhere in your garden! Make dandelion salads, use the fairy bottle as a flower vase, find rocks or sticks to make chairs -- use your imagination and throw a fairy feast today!

Take a walk outside and find a patch of clover! It grows everywhere! Pick a few perfect stems and use the flower press packet to dry and press your 3 or 4-leaf clover! Place paper leaflet under a heavy book and let dry for a few days. If you find one teensy-tiny enough, you can gently put it in your fairy bottle!

Fairy Magic in a Bottle! Find the tiniest clover to press -- and gently push through the bottle!

The 'wishing pocket' was designed and created by Finley, one of our subscribers! She used the leftover felt in one of the craft boxes to sew up these adorable treasures. It's a perfect craft for this month as we are reading about leprechauns and magic. No need to squeeze a leprechaun to get your wish -- just tuck it away in your pocket.
