Craft-A-Tale January Box: The Snow Queen

Decorate your door first -- use the packing snowflake confetti -- glue on hinge, swirl and door handle.

Finger Crochet a scarf using a simple chain stitch -- click the video below for instructions!

Click into the above video to see one way to finger crochet.

Steps: 1. Make a slip knot with a generous-size loop and place over your pointer finger -- which is your 'hook'. 2. Wrap the longer tail of the yarn over your pointer finger next to the fist loop. 3. 'Jump' the first loop over the yarn.. 4. Pull down the short tail --making a stitch -- and you now have a new loop on your pointer finger. Repeat. -- This takes some practice, but it is so fun to do once you get the hang of it. . Make enough chain stitches to make your scarf to desired length.

Each reindeer uses 2 acorns and 5 sticks--be sure to add hooves to each leg to help your reindeer stand steadily..

When Gerda found Kay, he was blue with cold! Remember Kay with these 'Blue Boy' flowers -- find the flower marker in your kit and decorate it with the flower name. Use glitter, snowflake confetti, or draw your own design -- practice fancy lettering in blue ink to make it stand out!

Decorate Your Flower pot! Draw an X with a vertical line through the center using a pencil. Take one of the extra reindeer sticks and dip the tip into the white paint -- dot with white paint along pencil lines as shown. Using a bigger dot,--like an eraser at the end of a pencil,--dot the end of each line. You now have a snowflake decoration.

Snow Owl Craft -- Use a pencil and gently poke and opening on the underside of the owl head big enough to place over the candle flame. Set your owl outside your palace to keep watch!

Seed Starter Pellets: On the left side is the dry seed pellet, and on the right side is how it should look after you soak it and drain it with warm water. It should grow twice in size. Place the flower seed in the center -- and place the seed pod in your flower pot. Cover gently and keep moist -- when the shoot breaks through the soil, make sure to get it some sun from a window!
