Jack Pumpkinhead and the Sawhorse

A Tale from Oz by L. Farnk Baum

Dress Jack! Find the kit with Jack's head on the stick. Be gentle with Jack's stick body. Find Jack's felt clothing -- a shirt and pants. Decorate as desired with gems.. Glue the front & back shirt to Jack so his front and backside are 'clothed'. Next, glue the pants to the front and back of Jack. Jack is ready to stand in his pumpkin patch.

Making Pumpkins! Find your orange clay and make your own pumpkin. Roll into a circle -- use the end of a stick to press seams into your pumpkin as shown. Add the stem to the top. If desired, ask a parent to 'cook' at a low temperature for about 10 minutes to permanently harden. Add stems to the other glittery orange pumpkins to use to fill your pumpkin patch. Squeeze the top and bottom of your pumpkins to flatten a bit to help keep your pumpkins from rolling!

Make a Pumpkin Patch! Jack lives in a pumpkin patch. Find your square tray and decorate as desired. I left mine in the natural wood color. Take a hike and 'collect' different treasures to design your pumpkin patch. Add some crushed leaves, acorns and dirt -- make a path through the pumpkin patch. Add moss as desired. Use the wooden circles as stepping stones.
